ARKANSAS KINGS FIRST TRYOUT

Arkansas Kings' First Tryout Showcases Top Talent

The Arkansas Kings' first-ever tryout was an impressive display of talent from the Ozark Mountains and beyond. Players from Tulsa and Kansas City demonstrated why they compete at the AA level, while local NWAHA players stood out with their high skill levels and strong understanding of the game.

One of the standout moments came from Jason Pham, a local NWAHA rec player, who scored a spectacular one-handed goal on a breakaway attempt. When asked about the move, he credited Coach Betzold for teaching him the art of the "Forsberg."

Payton Zaloudek also delivered a dazzling performance, netting seven goals in Sunday’s showdown, which ended in dramatic fashion with a Chase Braziel overtime winner. "It was a display of character," said Coach Stark when reflecting on the tryout. "The passion for the game stood out to me the most. These kids were playing to win."

Giovanni Woods, a local NWAHA product currently training in Arkansas in preparation for the BCHL next season, was also impressed. Serving as a referee for the scrimmages, Woods noted the high pace of play, stating, "The players here are taking it to the next level."
